Ties that bind

TIES THAT BIND

From my times as an Ordinator I was always saying that the best leaders are the ones who gain their officers and soldiers trust. Well, I guess I can say the same with my recent "Brothers and sisters of the Tribe". Sounds better than soldiers and officers. I see it in their eyes - they stayed with me, saw my artifacts, even had a glimpse of the Stalhrim Skull. Yet, they didn't fully trust me. I only gained their attention. It is time to forge it into trust. And I know, where to start.

For months, Arvamea and I were mapping out locations of the Firstborn totems. Unfortunately, we didn't have any precise info about their locations - only rumors, gossips and stories of old. We ended up listing over a hundred possible locations scattered throughout Tamriel. There were even a few possible locations in Atmora, Akavir and even Pyandoema! The two of us would never manage to investigate every location we had mapped. But now, with more of us, we could split up, search for clues and get to know each other.

Strange as it may sound, we are more close to wolves, than many would admit it. First time I saw my founding members of the Bloodmoon Tribe they were a pack of loners, even though some of them belonged to different, and mostly shady guilds and establishments. Arvamea thinks, deep down inside we're just wolves in guar's clothing, only feeling as part of something bigger, when all the monsters are here. Well, as time proved, she was right, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. As I mentioned before, I needed to gain their full trust - so we started investigating the mapped locations - most of them close to Skyrim's borders, Stonefalls, Deshaan and a little bit of Sacred East. Nothing big, better to keep it close to our safe haven if something goes awfully wrong.

It was hard at first, but after a few clashes with bandits we have managed to "break the ice", as Nords say. Slowly, we started to know each other, while resting and talking by the campfire when we travelled, or when we were protecting our hides for each other, when we fought. It lasted for a few weeks like that, but there was a breaking point to be needed if the Tribe was to continue. And I have found it - Darkshade Caverns. According to a very reliable source, inside that cave were ruins of Deep Elves of old. But what was interesting the most, that one of the dwarven centurions, known as The Sentinel of Rkumgaz was powered by a soul gem in which was trapped one of the Firstborn! It was a long shot, but that was our test. I have gathered the most skilled (of which I was aware of) warriors within the Tribe and we marched to Darkshade Caverns.

We fought bravely, we went through many obstacles, saving each other’s lives - we fought as one. In the end, we met the Sentinel and after a hard-fought battle we had won. There was a black soul gem, but inside of it there was the soul of Brigid Wolf-Sister - one of the first werewolves created by the Firstborn. We celebrated for many days, and were talking about it for weeks to come. Endgame is, the trust was gained, they recognised me as a leader, and I recognised them as... my brothers and sisters for whom I would die for, if I had to.

Helseth.
