Enemies Within, part 2

ENEMIES WITHIN, PART 2

It was a terrible week. It started with Helseth sending us to the Rift to meet up with his agent there, Runa Silver-Blood. Arvamea managed to find the source of our recent troubles, and that girl Runa was the key. After we spend some time looking for her, the redhead was found in Riften's Refugee Outpost. She gave us directions to a local daedra hunter belonging to the so-called Stendarr's Shadows. After about two hours of Roumi's interrogations, the hunter gave up and ratted up his comrades hideouts. We went there with one intention - kill them all and be done with them - an intention we fulfilled. But this is where the bad things started to happen. After we returned to Davon's Watch we found our Lounge set on fire and a shady figure that did not want to let us in. We' had been exposed. We quickly killed the idiot who stopped us, only to find our house ransacked and full of corpses. We did find a few survivors, thank Hircine. One of them told us that they ambushed Helseth and Arvamea while they were on their way to Mournhold.

We tried to intercept them but what we have found out was shocking - Helseth was surrounded by a group of werewolf hunters, many of them were our former brothers and sisters of the Tribe, calling themselves the Sacred Grove. And Arvamea... she... was leading them. She killed Helseth in exchange for sparing our lives and threw him into molten lava...

A week later Runa found me and a few others drinking away our sorrows in Windhelm. She led us to a manor outside the town where we found out all our trinkets, weapons, books and plans to strike against the Sacred Grove. And a message from our late Alpha: "The Tribe must survive".

I will honour his order and until that bitch is put down by my claws, my contract will not expire.

I had a strange feeling that night, when I talked to Pakseech about my mission to Black Marsh. A trivial mission to Lilmoth to find some long dead rumour about massive red wolves ripping travellers apart? That wasn’t a top priority for few months and now Helseth told me it was. I told him my doubts, but, by the Hist, he just smiled and told me that it’s better to check it and have it behind me. That was the smile of person who was going to die, but I did not see it that day. He wished me good luck, and that was it. I was off to my homeland.

As I suspected, all rumours were false. I was so irritated by Helseth's orders, until I discovered the Lounge in complete ruin surrounded by city guards and some Fighters Guild members. I tried to get any information regarding the recent events, but most of it was just guesses by gossipers. Then a Nord girl approached me. She told me her name was Runa and was Helseths niece (by my mothers egg-tooth) and told me all the gory details - the smoke bomb to lure out senior brothers and sisters of the Tribe from the Longue, the betrayal and... Death of the Alpha. She also gave me a letter from Helseth, stating that he was prepared for death and gave me one last order: "The Tribe must survive", and with it a ring with Bloodmoons insignia, promoting me to the status of Venerated Elder.

So now, here I am, in the so called Old Manor, our new base of operations arguing with Methoven and others about how and when to strike back at the Traitor. I'm no frontline fighter, but the Tribe needs to get all our agents back, so we can take down Arvamea. I have no clue what will happen next, but I know that our Alpha's legacy will not be forgotten.
